You don’t need all the answers before you start a video project: that’s our job. But we do ask a few key questions to make sure what we’re creating actually works.

Person holding large video camera, standing in a field with dry grass. Focus on equipment, with a blurred road and greenery in background.

Here are five things we’ll ask before we even unpack a camera bag:

  1. How do you want your audience to respond?

Not just what they should know but what they should feel. Inspired? Informed? Motivated to act? That emotion is the target, and we build backwards from there.

  1. Who are we talking to?

We get specific. Age, language, accessibility needs, cultural context all of it matters. A great video doesn’t speak to everyone. It speaks directly to someone.

  1. Where will this content live?

TV ad? Instagram reel? In-house workshop? We shape visuals, pacing, and delivery around where the story will be seen (and by whom).

  1. What’s the tone?

Cheeky and bold? Gentle and heartfelt? Corporate but warm? Tone guides everything from scripting to music selection to direction on set.

  1. What’s the budget and where’s the biggest impact?

We’re not here to max out your budget we’re here to make it work harder. This question helps us recommend the right format, team size, and edit style for the goal.
